Intermittent Catheters

An intermittent catheter is a device that is inserted into the bladder to enable urination. Intermittent catheters are typically used in patients who have had prostate surgery and cannot fully control their bladder contractions.

It consists of a long, soft tube with a balloon on its end that is used to create a seal against the urethra. The seal prevents urine from leaking out while the patient urinates.

Intermittent Catheters Benefits

Intermittent catheters, as the name suggests, are an alternative to wearing a diaper and change. They can be used by people who struggle with incontinence due to aging, injury or disability.

The use of intermittent catheters has many benefits which can improve the quality of life for those struggling with incontinence. When using intermittent catheters, there is no need to worry about soiling underwear and clothing.
