How to use AMG Physiologic Accuflex 10 Thermometer?

Before use, make sure you clean and disinfect the thermometer. You should also decide where you intend to measure your temperature as the amount of time and the accuracy varies. To use the thermometer, press the power button until the device beeps. There are three options for use of this device, oral, underarm, and rectal.

Oral

  1. Place the prob under your tongue, as far back as you can so either side.
  2. While the device is working the temperature is going to flash.
  3. Once the thermometer reaches peak temperature, which will take approximately 18 seconds, it will stop flashing and make four quick beeps.
  4. To switch off the gadget, press the power button.

Underarm

  1. Wipe your underarm with a dry towel.
  2. Place the prob tip against the skin, the thermometer perpendicular to the body. Cross your arm against your chest to ensure the prob tip is well covered and won’t be affected by the room temperature.
  3. Once the thermometer reaches peak temperature, which will take approximately 37 seconds, it will stop flashing and make four quick beeps. The temperature may be up to 1.0°F (0.6°C) lower.
  4. To switch off the gadget, press the power button.

Rectal

  1. Cover the tip in a water-soluble lubricant.
  2. Insert it to a maximum depth of 0.5” (1.25cm) into the rectum.
  3. Once the thermometer reaches peak temperature, which will take approximately 10 seconds, it will stop flashing and make four quick beeps. The temperature may be up to 1.0°F (0.6°C) higher.
  4. To turn the gadget off, press the power button.

To clean the thermometer, use a soft cloth with cold soapy water or a diluted solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use gas, boil or steam this device. While it can be submerged in water or alcohol, it cannot be left to soak for extended periods of time. Do not use other cleaning methods as it can cause performance issues.

When the battery symbol appears, it’s time to change the battery. To replace it:

  1. Slide the battery cap off.
  2. Use a non-pointed tool to remove the battery.
  3. Put the new battery on the ‘+’ side facing the screen side.
  4. Put the cap snuggly back on to protect the battery from moisture.
