VagiSense Vaginal Infection Screening Test 2 Count

Gone are the days when the only alternative for a woman who suspects she has a yeast infection is a time consuming trip to the doctor's office.  Vagisense offers a practical alternative, particularly for women who previously have had yeast infections and know the symptoms.  It's also practical for those new to yeast infections to get a quick result.

VagiSense is a self-administered, non-prescription vaginal infection screening test designed for home use. Here's everything you need to know:

What is it?

  • VagiSense is a swab that provides a diagnosis within 10 seconds, indicating whether your symptoms are more likely caused by a vaginal yeast infection or a bacterial/parasitic infection.
  • It comes with a soft-coated yellow tip and an easy-to-grip handle for more comfortable use.

How does it work?

  • By reacting to your symptoms, VagiSense provides a fast diagnosis.
  • Simply swab your vagina with VagiSense and observe whether the yellow tip changes colour upon contact with your secretions.

Why is it important?

  • VagiSense helps differentiate between a possible vaginal yeast infection and a bacterial/parasitic infection, allowing for appropriate and timely treatment.
  • By identifying a vaginal yeast infection, you can easily treat it with over-the-counter medication and avoid an unnecessary visit to a healthcare professional.

When to test?

  • If you're of menstruating age and experience abnormal or excessive vaginal discharge, vaginal itching or burning, or vaginal discharge with abnormal colour or unpleasant odour, VagiSense may be helpful.
  • However, do not use VagiSense if you are experiencing any of the following conditions: less than one day before or the day after your period, signs of menstruation or any vaginal bleeding, less than 12 hours after sexual intercourse or vaginal douching, or less than 72 hours after the application of vaginal preparations such as contraceptive creams or lubricants.
  • Pregnant individuals should consult with a healthcare professional before using VagiSense.

Directions

Wash and dry your hands. Unwrap the individual VagiSense test (swab). If the swab is damaged or the swab tip is stained, dispose of the test and use a new one. Make sure that the swab tip does not come into contact with anything before insertion into the vaginal entrance. Hold the VagiSense test with your fingers on the handle of the swab. Separate the vaginal outer layer skin so the vagina is exposed. Insert the yellow tip of the VagiSense test until your fingers reach the outer skin of the vagina (approximately 5 cm into the mid-vagina) and rotate the swab several times. Do not touch the vaginal entrance. Withdraw the VagiSense test from your vagina. Carefully avoid the tip coming into contact with anything, and check that it has collected a visible amount of secretion. Wait 10 seconds. Check the tip of the VagiSense test for colour changes from yellow to blue or green. Note: if any blood stain appears on the VagiSense test, disregard the results. Dispose of the VagiSense test after usage as you would with any other feminine hygiene product.

Other important notes:

  • Always read and follow the package instructions carefully.
