Cervical collars are a common form of neck protection for patients who experience neck pain, whiplash, or cervical spine injuries. These soft foam collars are designed to support the neck and help prevent or reduce neck movement that could be painful or aggravating to the injury. Cervical collars come in different levels of protection:

• light (to protect against excessive head movement),
• medium (to protect against moderate head movement), and
• restrictive (to protect against any head movement).
