Wound care and first aid is a field of healthcare that includes the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute traumatic injuries.

Wound care aims to promote healing, prevent infection and remove foreign bodies such as dirt or debris.

First aid is the immediate action taken before professional medical help arrives, such as performing CPR on someone who has collapsed. First aid can be divided into two parts: "basic" and "advanced".
