Digital Thermometers

A digital thermometer is a temperature measuring device that displays the temperature numerically and in degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit, and sometimes Kelvin. Digital thermometers measure temperature by sensing infrared radiation emitted from an object.

Infrared radiation is not visible to the human eye, but digital thermometers are able to detect wavelengths of light in the infrared spectrum at different levels of sensitivity depending on what temperatures they are designed to measure.

Digital Thermometer Benefits

A major benefit to using a digital thermometer is the accuracy in reading. When compared to other types of thermometers, digital thermometers are typically much more accurate because they use a fixed-point display to show numeric values instead of traditional analog dials that have markings that are often hard to read.
